| Tess was our foundation bitch and was a wonderful dog in so many ways. She started it all and we will always remember her for her boundless love. Tess earned her JH title as well as CGC and WD titles and she earned a permanent place in our hearts. |

| Having grown up with Chesapeakes, I knew when I was an adult that I would continue the family tradition. When my husband Lenny and I married, we started talking about getting a hunting dog. Lenny is an avid hunter and he had always wanted a Chesapeake Bay Retriever. When we bought our first home, we also bought our first Chesapeake. Her name was Tess. She was a wonderful dog, with all the heart and desire that is typical of the breed. We soon joined the American Chesapeake Club and began the journey into all the wonderful things one can do with this breed. We also joined our local retriever club and began runnign hunt tests. Tess liked hunt tests well enough and obtained her Junior Hunter title easily, but it was hunting that she truly loved. Tess was a natural hunter and figured things out for herself....a typical Chesapeake trait! We spend much of our time training and campaigning our dogs in hunt tests and hunting our dogs on both waterfowl and upland birds. We also show some of our dogs in Conformation. The Chesapeake is a dual purpose dog and we think it important for our dogs to have both field and conformation titles. Without correct structure, a dog can't perform as well in the field so structure is very important to us in our breeding program. Good health and excellent temperament are equally important. All of our dogs are certified for hips (OFA) and eyes (CERF). Our male is also certified clear for PRA.
