Teaching people about Chesapeake Bay Retrievers - Connecting with other Chesapeake owners

 

Learning about what you can do with your Chesapeake: Retrieving, Hunting, Tracking, Obedience, Agility, Conformation, Hunt Tests & Field Trials

 

Canine Good Citizen Testing

 

Introduction to Retrieving for Hunting, Hunt Tests & Field Trials

            Puppy Stakes:  Introduction to bumpers, obedience and question/answer session

            Beginner Stakes:  This stake is for young or inexperienced dogs or dogs that have yet to do long or multiple retrieves

            Intermediate/Advanced Stakes:  Singles or doubles for dogs that have experience retrieving.

 

All Chesapeake’s and their families and friends are welcome!!!

            SUNDAY:

                        9:00 a.m.- ?                  Dog games, final cleanup

 

 

OTHER EVENTS:

 

T-Shirts & Sweatshirts:   Returning this year are commemorative T-Shirts & Sweatshirts!

 

Raffle:  There will be a raffle held on Saturday.  Tickets will be on sale all day with a drawing at 5 P.M.  Please bring a dog related item for the raffle (remember, this raffle helps to pay for next year’s Chesapeake Weekend so please bring something you would like to win!)  (No dog food please.)  There will be a separate raffle for a Chesapeake related item.

 

Potluck Lunch:  There will be a potluck lunch at noon on Saturday (leftovers on Sunday!).  Please bring a dish to pass and share.  Hot dishes are always needed.  Remember to pick up your crock pot or serving dishes when you leave!  Please remember to bring hot food in a crock pot or something similar as it is the only way we have of heating things.  Please don’t bring food with nuts in it.

 

Saturday Supper:  The annual steak cookout and fixins’ will be held Saturday evening.  Only advance registration will be accepted for the steak cookout.  There will be a $15.00 charge per person.  Be sure and bring your own steak knife.

 

Dog Training Seminars:  (e-collar conditioning, force-fetching, beginning blind drills, wagon wheel drills)

 

Photographer: As usual, Deanna and John Kaiser will be taking photographs of all the dogs and you can buy the photos for a very reasonable price! Also, they will be doing photo shoots at the clubhouse with a very nice hunting backdrop.

 

·                    No bitches in season allowed on grounds.

·                    The Oregon Sportsman’s Club (headquarters for this event) prefers dogs stay out of the clubhouse unless there is a specific dog function going on inside.

·                    Please leave dogs in vehicle when registering.

·                    There are poop pick-up bags in clubhouse.  Please clean up after your dog at all times.

·                    Do not leave litter on the properties.

·                    Do not drive on the grass at either property.

 

 

PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN LAWN CHAIRS AND RAIN GEAR!  BE SURE TO PICK UP AFTER YOURSELVES AND YOUR DOGS SO WE WILL CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO USE THIS PROPERTY FOR FUTURE CHESAPEAKE EVENTS.  DOGS MUST BE ON A LEASH OR IN A CRATE AT ALL TIMES WHEN NOT WORKING.
